Grilled & Juicy Turkey Burger
I LOVE burgers but I don’t feel like eating red meat all the time, so I started making them with turkey more often and I have to say that I might like them even more! They are healthier and lighter! the challenge is that turkey is usually not so flavorful and it can be tricky to get the patties to be super juicy. I looked up recipes before and they all suggested adding egg or bread crumbs to the meat but I honestly wasn’t loving it until I added fresh chopped onions to the meat. That does the trick!!!! That makes the burger SOOO Juicy! You can thank me later ;)
Ingredients:
1 lb of ground turkey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 yellow onion, minced (this is the trick in order to get a juicy patty)
1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce sauce
Kosher salt to taste
Romaine or butter lettuce
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
Ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Hamburger buns
Cheese of preference (I usually use mozzarella or cheddar)
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced red onions
Sliced avocado
Pickles
Mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to add to the burger if you’d like
In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, garlic, onion, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, cumin, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Knead and mix well and form into four patties.
Cook patties in a grill or medium skillet over medium heat. Cover them and cook until golden and cooked through, approx 6 minutes per side. Serve on a bun with desired toppings and enjoy!
